The protection, care and nurturing of Nepal’s street children is the primary focus of Child | Literacy’s Nepalese affiliate – Protego Nepal. The organization is dedicated to working with these children and strives to provide shelter, food, clothing health care and education in order that these neglected and abandoned children may come back into the Nepalese society as productive and contributing citizens.
The children of this school come from very poor families where the parents serve as daily wage workers, vegetable sellers, masons, domestic help etc. and their income is way below the poverty line. The uniforms provided by CL are perhaps the only good clothing that the children have.
